Race Team

Yukon Breeze Sailing Society is starting its very own race team in 2025 - a first in the Yukon! Racing is a great way to improve your sailing understanding, skills and efficiency. There will be two race team sessions, one in June and another in July with 4 nights each.

Some key concepts that we will go over include:

• Tacking and Jibing; how to roll tack to maintain speed, when to tack or jibe.

• Mark roundings; how to make a clean fast mark rounding. How to use your weight to steer the boat.

• Start line; how to get your best start.

• Understanding wind shifts, strategies and tactics, putting it all together.

Racers will be in one person Lasers.

Prior sailing experience is required (CANSail 2 or equivalent).

Registration will open April 9th at 8am.
